The perception of having your own Alternative Power Sources is very easy today given the existing technologies. In fact, sailing vessels is one example of Alternative Power Sources used today and has been used since man initially started fishing the oceans. With the global community currently aware of the global warming destruction being made to our planet and the current and long-term effects, we are beginning to realize our very survival is endangered.

Energy is so vital that Nations hoard vast fuel assets for the sole function of going to war to secure supplementary energy sources, but none of these are allocated in support for civilian use.  In the event of a major failure of an energy supply we hold no Alternative Power Sources that can be used as an energy supply replacement in place of the failed supply.

The energy supply we use is produced by consuming Fossil Fuels; this resource supplies the energy supply for transport and electricity in support of our homes and business. The bulk of these energy supply requirements are created from Hydro Electric (dams), Carbon Based Fuels or Nuclear. Each one of these important energy supplies is extremely hostile to the natural environment with Fossil Fuel the number one highest contributor to the Greenhouse effect and Global Warming:

2. Nuclear Electric Power Plants contain a unwanted product of radioactive material with a 500 year half life, in addition the plants are extremely expensive to construct and keep up. As these power plants age we start running an elevated chance of accidents which at the worst set of circumstances would trigger the China Syndrome; the reactor core melting threw the planet crust into the interior core, in this event no one really knows what would take place and I am certainly we do not want to find out.
3. Hydro Power is the cleanest and on the whole the most efficient power source but requires a vast quality and supply of water, a commodity that a lot of Nations do not control.  There are not adequate amounts of rivers or free ground area to be able to generate the greater part of the power demand necessary.

The theory of Global Warming has been in existence for 30 years or better and the need to start using alternative power sources has been acknowledged for a prolonged time, but has been strongly been fought by many members in the Earth Science Community; the majority of the opposition has not been based on Science but rather on research funds to be had from Energy Corporations for research projects and pay-cheques.On the News almost each day we hear of areas affected by weather change and anybody who would deny that these are not a product of Global Warming has either a low education (forgiven) or else is a fool (not forgiven). To not have noticed what has been going on inside the natural environment you would have to be a recluse living in the Russian far north with no communications but you would still have noticed a change in the weather. Humans are like sheep they can be blindly herded and directed to slaughter, we cannot afford the risks to carry on down this path and we must begin switching to Alternative Power Sources immediately.

There are existing Alternative Power Sources that are pollution free and can be used in exchange to these current power supplies, but we are not using them. It is exceedingly easy not to replace our current energy supplier, but why would we keep on sending pollution into the air when we can be using clean one of these Alternative Power Sources?

Homes are the largest consumers of Electric Energy and Electric Power is the second largest contributor of Carbon Dioxide next to transportation.
